The Venue
Probably the most important choice to ensure an accessible and sustainable conference is the venue itself. Soka University prides itself on its support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the links below provide conference participants with further information about what the university has accomplished in this regard.

Online Presentation Options
- We have aimed at increasing accessibility by offering both in-person and online attendance and presentation options, ensuring that everyone can participate regardless of their location or mobility.
- In Tokyo, we have also prioritized public transport options to and from the conference venue and arranged a chartered bus for the conference dinner.
- Our event lunch and dinner options caters to all dietary preferences and we can accommodate a variety of meal requests including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and halal. The restaurant and catering company we have partnered with for the event will be serving sustainable, locally-produced food and beverages. Tableware will be used instead of disposable utensils.
- Soka University has partnered with hotels that have a variety of access options and sustainability programs in place. Each hotel follows a recycling program and also encourages limited sheet and towel changes upon request, reducing unnecessary use of resources.
- For our event, we will have limited signage to cut down on single-use material. Instead, navigation to and around our conference venue will be facilitated by student volunteers. Please look out for their distinguishing t-shirts! Additionally, we have prepared a digital schedule for the event so as to avoid single-use paper.
- Eco-friendly cups will be presented to all face-to face participants, reducing plastic waste and providing all with a sustainable token of attendance at the conference.
